Sierra Cortina, Finestrat Spain
SierraCortina.info

Finestrat is just a few kilometres inland. Nestling in the foothills of the majestic mountains which form Benidorm’s natural backdrop, this quaint village has a real old Spanish feel to it. Stroll the narrow streets, and sample the fresh spring water with which the locals fill their containers.
There’s another pretty Spanish town called Altea, on the coast road to the north. Wander up to the hilltop church and sit awhile in the peaceful cobbled square, or enjoy a leisurely lunch at a seafront restaurant.
Further on, we have Calpe
where you may see wild flamingoes on the lake. Be sure to visit the Peñón de Ifach
-
To the south, there is Villajoyosa, a small bustling town with its own beaches and a weekly market.
For a longer excursion, the city of Valencia has many cultural and tourist attractions, not forgetting historic Alicante to the south.
Urban or rural, quiet or buzzing, active or relaxed this area really does have it all!
